Pilots
ARION in live research assessment
Eight institutions test ARION’s interventions in real assessment processes, then feed what they learn back into the tools.
Pilot institutions
Eight institutions across Europe pilot ARION in real evaluation processes, spanning research-performing and research-funding organisations and national bodies. Together they bring diverse governance, disciplinary and national contexts and the range needed to make the interventions work beyond a single setting.
UEFSISCDI
Activities
The pilot will co-design and test narrative CVs framework with multilingual approaches, conduct national outreach through CoARA National Chapters and the wider RDI community, and feed the lessons learned at national level back into EU-level policy and practice.
Themes
- Multilingual NCVs
- OS indicators
- National embedding
UPC
Activities
The pilot will harmonise narrative CVs across the alliance, develop multilingual CVs and open science indicators, scale the approach through the Agoras, and feed the resulting alliance practices back into ARION.
Themes
- Multilingual NCVs
- OS indicators
- Alliance scaling
HEAL-Link
Activities
The pilot will trial a Greek-language narrative CVs, develop inclusive indicators, and implement FAIR workflows through a DMP tool and HARDMIN, with outreach carried out via libraries and authorities.
Themes
- Multilingual NCVs
- FAIR/OS indicators
- National embedding
VU
Activities
The pilot will harmonise narrative CVs, RP and open science indicators across the alliance, and in the Netherlands will test the open science indicators and narrative CVs within R&R and SEP evaluations, while piloting with CRIS and research infrastructures.
Themes
- OS indicators
- Recognition integration
- Institutional scaling
- National scaling
UCY
Activities
The pilot will trial light-touch narrative CVs and RP fields in GNOSIS (DSpace-CRIS) with multilingual options and open science indicators, running as an institutional pilot with links to national initiatives.
Themes
- Light-touch adoption
- Multilingual CVs
- OS indicators
EUt+
Activities
The pilot will harmonise the narrative CVs and RP core, test cross-site adoption across ERIs and ERGs, and share knowledge through the GraspOS Registry.
Themes
- Multilingual NCVs
- OS indicators
- Alliance scaling
NUIM - IReL
Activities
The pilot will embed tailored RP and OS indicators in the IReL consortium to consolidate RRA, alongside engagement with the consortium at national level.
Themes
- OS indicators
- Library-led embedding
BGHRI
Activities
The pilot will test extended researcher profiles and narrative CVs in the life sciences, integrate open science practice indicators and conduct outreach through the Basque Department of Health and, nationally, through the Instituto de Salud Carlos III.
Themes
- OS indicators
- Narrative CVs
Researcher Profiles - Institutional scaling
- National scaling
Become a pilot
Become an early adopter Beyond the eight pilots, ARION runs two Early Adopter Programme rounds for institutions ready to test the interventions in their own assessment. Selection is transparent, and support is tiered to your starting point. If your institution wants to move from principle to practice, this is the route in.
